CN'R Lawn N' Landscape - Core AerationLatest Update

UPDATED SUNDAY, OCTOBER 13:

**this will be our final core aeration update of the season

C N’R is wrapping up their fall core aeration service during the week of October 14th. If you are a customer looking to get squeezed in still before the end of the season, please reach out and EMAIL CRAIG direct and we will see what we can do. Otherwise, again - we plan to close down our core aeration for the fall season before the week of 10/21.

OVER-SEEDING? C N’R does offer over-seeding service to go along side the core aeration service. It has been very warm & dry this fall which made for difficult results from over-seeding. If you are looking to still squeeze in core aeration and you want to add seed, it may not be too late for that, and upon request we can do the best we can and offer the best professional advice that we have. Please EMAIL CRAIG direct to discuss.

OVERALL - C N’R fall core aeration service went rather smooth. Again, the dry September into October made it much easier to stay on schedule this fall as compared to last spring when it would not stop raining. We want to thank our GREAT customers for their business of core aeration services, whether it was spring or fall or both. Thank you very much!

UPDATED WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 2:

FALL CORE AERATION PLANNING:
C N’R has been core aerating this fall since the last week in August, and we are continuing into October. All customers, at the time of this update, have been notified of their scheduled week for core aeration. This service should be considered essential at least 1x per season, but 2x per season is HIGHLY recommended! If you are a new customer still looking to get core aeration services yet this October, please reach out to CRAIG as soon as possible and we will see if we can fit you in. This season ended dryer as well, so sneaking in aeration during the month of October will be very good for all lawns!

OVER-SEEDING?
At the time of this update, it definitely is NOT too late to add over-seeding with your core aeration service during the month of October. It has been record warm/dry in September, and at least the first half of October looks above normal for the most part. So, do NOT feel you are wasting anything by over-seeding still this fall (during the month of October). C N’R can always add this onto your core aeration service.

Remember, over-seeding should not be considered a solution to bare areas. Over-seeding is a way of helping to thicken your current turf over time, and essentially all homeowners should do this 1x per season - recommended in the fall.

ANY QUESTIONS? Please EMAIL CRAIG direct.

UPDATED WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 18:

FALL CORE AERATION SCHEDULING:
We started our fall core aeration service during the week of August 26th, and we plan to continue through the first week of October.
Schedules are created on a week-to-week basis. Please look for your notification letter via US MAIL.

OVER-SEEDING:
C N’R is currently completing over-seeding requests along side the core aeration service. If you are looking to add over-seed to core aeration, please EMAIL CRAIG.
Over-seeding should not be considered so much as a remedy for a dirt/shady area. While applying over-seed, C N’R does use discretion of what kind of seed gets applied in sunny and shady areas. But, consider adding over-seed service to existing grassy areas to help improve and thicken turf over consecutive seasons. We highly recommend seeding every September/October for all lawns.

NEW CUSTOMERS? C N’R can schedule new aeration requests late in September or earlier October.
Please go to our FREE ESTIMATES page to submit your request and we will get back to you as soon as possible.

UPDATED SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 8:

FALL CORE AERATION PLANS:
If you have contracted C N’R to service your core aeration for this fall, we started during the week of August 26th and will last into early October. Schedules are currently being created on a week to week basis. Please look for your notification coming via US MAIL.

ORIGINALLY UPDATED FRIDAY, AUGUST 9:

**NOTE: As of the beginning of the week of 8/26, the information below remains accurate. We will post another update sometime around 9/7 give or take or maybe as late as early in the week of 9/9

FALL CORE AERATION PLANS:
If you are signed up for our fall core aeration services, we do plan to start the week of August 26th. Then the next week is the week of Labor Day which is a short week. We will continue to aerate that week, but a shorter schedule. From here we plan to aerate through the entire month of September and even into early October. We do not have specific schedules made yet at this time. As August continues to cruise by, we will start creating weekly schedules for aeration one week at a time.

If you are a current customer that has requested over-seeding to be completed alongside our core aeration services, our plan is to complete these jobs during the first couple weeks of September. We will be monitoring the weather and whether or not it is getting cool enough yet. Sometimes it varies and we want to over-seed when at least night-time temps are starting to get much cooler as we wind up the warm season.

NOTIFICATIONS? C N’R sends out a letter about 1 week in advance of your scheduled week of core aeration. This is sent out via the US MAIL. If you want to be notified with a quick email, please send this special request by EMAILING CRAIG.

NEW CUSTOMERS? If you are interested in a quote or just want to get on our core aeration schedule, please click over to our FREE ESTIMATES page and submit your request. We will be back in touch with you as soon as we can.

UPDATED SUNDAY, JUNE 30:

Our final week of our Spring Core Aeration services was scheduled to be completed during the week of June 17th. That particular week was very wet and we delayed this final week to be completed the following week, which was the week of June 24th. And the week of June 24th was actually pretty good with weather considering what almost this entire season so far has been like. Therefore, C N’R was able to finish all scheduled core aeration jobs for the spring season.
Thank you very much for your business this spring, and of course your patience through the rocky weather we have been experiencing.

As far as future core aeration, C N’R’s next round of “planned” core aeration will start around Labor Day and last into early October. More on that once we get closer to that date.

OVER-SEED? We encourage all customers who have core aeration completed in the fall to consistently apply over-seed. Does this process make your lawn look like a golf course right after? The honest answer is “no”. Being consistent with over-seeding year after year, fall after fall, will help the health of your lawn, and the thickness of your lawn. It is worth it once you start over-seeding each season. Please EMAIL CRAIG if you want C N’R to add over-seeding to your fall core aeration service.

Also, through the summer core aeration can be beneficial for many circumstances such as disease, fungus, lawn restoration services, and more. If you are in need of core aeration during the middle of the season, we are here to help and please click on our FREE ESTIMATES page and submit your request. Thank you!

UPDATED TUESDAY, JUNE 18:

Very quickly, the previous week (week of 6/10) did end up on schedule, despite the rain - believe it or not, so there is not a "back up" going into our final week of Core Aeration for the spring.

Final week of Core Aeration? We have one more week scheduled for this service that was planned for the week of June 17th. At the time of this update, for how wet it is this week and how wet it is going to stay, it is likely that we will cancel the entire week of June 17th. We are not fully making this decision at this time, but if we do 100% cancel the plan for this particular week, we will send out emails to all customers that are affected on Friday June 21st.

6/17 - heavy rain.
6/18 - evening/night heavy rain.
6/20 - scattered forecasted rain
6/21 - rain becomes more steady.
6/22 (Saturday) - it appears we are still in the rain.

Just too much water to be aerating at this time.

Again, on Friday 6/21, we will email each customer that is going to be delayed into the week of 6/24.

ORIGINALLY UPDATED SUNDAY, JUNE 9:

QUICK UPDATE ON WEDNESDAY, JUNE 12:
If you scroll down a bit further, you will see our update prior to the start of the week of June 10th. At this time for the week of June 10th, we are currently falling behind schedule due to wet conditions to start the day on Tuesday, 6/11, and now T-storms during the day on Wednesday, 6/12. On Thursday 6/13 and Friday 6/14 we will attempt to catch up on this week’s planned core aeration, and for any customers that end up not getting done this week will be emailed with the plan to finish up the following week.

C N’R currently has 2 more weeks of “spring” Core Aeration service scheduled out. We have the week of June 10th and the week of June 17th. If you are scheduled for either of these 2 weeks, at the time of this update, this service is now ON SCHEDULE. We do have some weather bumps to get through during the week of June 10th, and we are sure some of the same problems with weather may occur the following week (week of June 17). With the type of season we are having with weather, delays should be expected, but again, at this time, all core aeration scheduling is on schedule.

If perhaps C N’R is not able to finish planned core aeration jobs by the end of a particular planned week, we do email all customers that were affected by this and are given the new plan.

LASTLY - we do send out a letter through the US MAIL that is a notification of your scheduled core aeration week. If you do want to get reminded via email, we ask that you do specially request this. Otherwise, the US MAIL these days still seems like the best route to go because of email privacy settings and sending attachment emails to peoples junk or spam folders.

If you are looking to get on our CORE AERATION SCHEDULE yet this spring, please EMAIL CRAIG  and we will be happy to help.

UPDATED SUNDAY, JUNE 9:

Please do scroll below and catch up on a past update or 2 which will help with information leading up to this current update.

UPDATED MONDAY, JUNE 3:

We have had a domino effect of delays with our core aeration schedule over the past couple of weeks. For all customers scheduled week to week, we have communicated via email with our plan involving the delays. The delays are stemming from some very wet conditions May into June. Going into the week of June 3rd, all planned core aeration that was not completed the week before will be completed. If you are scheduled for the week of June 10th or June 17th, at this time, that schedule remains “on schedule”. As we get closer to those weeks and delays from weather are still occurring, we will communicate with you via email.

We do send out a core aeration letter about 1 week in advance of your scheduled week via the US MAIL. If you want that notification e-mailed, please request this ahead of time. If you read on our specification sheet for our core aeration services, we do state we send our notifications via US MAIL because too many emails these days go to spam or junk folders. We feel a hard copy letter has a better chance at reaching our customers via snail mail vs e-mail.

For NEW customers looking to possibly get on our core aeration schedule, please go to FREE ESTIMATES to submit your request. At this time, we likely can get your job done by the end of June. But, we are hesitant to promise any specific timing due to the volatile weather pattern we have been in and what is possibly in our future.

Please EMAIL CRAIG with any further questions.

UPDATED FRIDAY, MAY 24:
**a new update for this service will not be available until closer to June 3rd, or the week of June 3rd

Scheduled Core Aeration has fallen behind. Please read the details below.

CURRENT WEEK: (week of May 20th) - as you might imagine, C N’R was not able to complete all scheduled core aeration jobs this particular week. This is because of the weather and all the rain we have received, softness of turf, etc. All customers that are getting delayed until the week of May 27th have been notified as of 10am Friday, May 24th. We will resume aerating after the holiday on Tuesday, May 28th.

ALL CUSTOMER’s SCHEDULED FOR THE SHORT WEEK OF MAY 27TH? If you are scheduled for the week of 5/27, we plan to aerate anytime from Tuesday, May 28 through Friday, May 31st. But, the previous week fell behind, and we will be aerating those properties first during the week of 5/27, then move onto the planned jobs for the week of May 27th - which could get pushed/delayed to the week of June 3rd in the end because it is a 4-day holiday week, and with any weather delays, it may be difficult to catch up especially for as wet as it has been.

If the above is confusing for you, please EMAIL CRAIG and he can help give you some detail timing on your core aeration scheduled week.

For all other jobs that have not been scheduled yet, we ask for your patience. Let’s get through these wet times, a holiday, etc..and we will continue to plan more core aeration jobs in June. But, because of all these May delays, our “spring core aeration” scheduling will last longer this season and through most of June. You will receive a letter about 1 week in advance of your scheduled aeration week. These are sent through the US MAIL (not email unless requested).

Stay tuned for more updates to come around 6/3 or after.

UPDATED SUNDAY, MAY 19:

WEEK OF MAY 13TH: We did have some equipment difficulties which did not allow us to stay on schedule by the end of the week. If you were scheduled for core aeration during the week of 5/13 and we were not able to make it to you, you were emailed, and the plan is to complete these aeration jobs just as soon as we can during the week of 5/20.

WEEK OF 5/20 PLAN? Well, it looks like the week of 5/20 is going to be a big challenge in the weather department. We will certainly at least try to catch up the customers that were not completed the previous week talked about above, but when we have this much rain forecasted, it is likely that core aeration may fall further behind. If you are scheduled for the week of 5/20 (of course you were sent a reminder letter about a week in advance through the US MAIL!) - we may fall behind again due to wetness. Core Aeration Service is especially sensitive to wet conditions, therefore we need to make correct but cautious decisions when we are potentially getting 1-3” of rain. Hopefully things will dry out enough to stay on schedule this particular week, but if not, you will receive an email with a plan.

If you are scheduled for the week of 5/27, a scheduling letter has been sent to you, and with delays possible during the week of 5/20 may affect this particular week of core aeration.

Stay Tuned!

UPDATED SUNDAY, MAY 12:

WEEK OF MAY 13TH will be our kick-off week for C N’R's core aeration services this spring. We expect this service to last until around Mid-June. We are scheduling “week-to-week”, so many of you still have not received notification about your scheduled week yet. This is normal, and you will be notified through the US MAIL about 1 week in advance of your scheduled week. If you have “sooner needs” for core aeration this season, please EMAIL CRAIG and we can do our best to accommodate your request as soon as possible. An example of “sooner needs” is like maybe you are planning on doing some mass seeding this spring, therefore, the earlier the better for core aeration and then you can apply that seed. Just let us know.

In the end, core aerating anytime during the season is just fine. We just call it “spring” and “fall” core aeration because we do recommend this to be completed at each property 2x per season, sometime around spring, and sometime around fall.

Going into the week of May 13th, at this time, we do see some potential for rain later Wednesday through Wednesday night. It appears to be light and should not have implications with our aeration schedule, but you never know. If we do fall behind for core aeration on any particular week, and some jobs need to get pushed off to the following week, we will individually email these customers on Friday or Saturday- at the end of the scheduled week.

Any further questions, please EMAIL CRAIG.

UPDATED SUNDAY, MAY 5:

We have just started to work on a schedule for spring core aeration. This service will begin during the week of May 13th and will continue to about the middle of June. Just because we continue to work on scheduling does not mean you will receive your scheduled week quite yet. But, in the end, we do send out a notification letter through the US MAIL about 1 week in advance of your planned core aeration week. We send these out week-to-week.

If you have a specific yard reason why you really need your core aeration this spring completed as soon as possible, please simply EMAIL CRAIG and we will accommodate the best we can with our schedule.

More updates to come - especially after the week of May 13th. If we run into any delays with the schedule due to the weather, then we will send out individual emails and will update here as well.

UPDATED SUNDAY, APRIL 28:

Typically, C N’R starts the spring CORE AERATION process sometime around the middle of May. If you are signed up and you do require to have your aeration completed this spring as early as possible, please EMAIL CRAIG. We will accommodate the best we can.

At the time of this update, we are thinking we will “get started” with the spring CORE AERATION process during the week of May 13th. This planned schedule will then take us likely to the middle of June before we are totally done with core aeration.

And REMEMBER! We do send out notifications about 1 week in advance of your scheduled aeration week via the US MAIL. If you want to be emailed this notification, you will need to EMAIL CRAIG and request an electronic notification.

UPDATED THURSDAY, APRIL 18:

Typically, C N’R starts the spring CORE AERATION process sometime around the middle of May. If you are signed up and you do require to have your aeration completed this spring as early as possible, please EMAIL CRAIG. We will accommodate the best we can.

As we claw our way through the second half of April, it actually has been pretty wet (surprising to say!) making for other services to start falling a bit behind our projections. Spring clean ups especially, and the more delays we get with spring cleans, then the start of our landscape season delays a bit, and then coincidently, our core aeration service delays a bit (chain reaction). At this point, we are thinking core aeration will begin during the week of May 13th, but could be as late as the week of May 20th. Just not sure at the time of this update. We will keep you posted!

And REMEMBER! We do send out notifications about 1 week in advance of your scheduled aeration week via the US MAIL. If you want to be emailed this notification, you MUST request this.

Early April Update:

C N’R services core aeration 2x per season. Once in the spring (May/June) and once in the fall (Sept/Oct). Upon special request, we can apply over-seed in the spring and/or in the fall along side our core aeration services. One important thing to note is that you cannot apply pre-emergent or spray for broadleaf weeds within 5-7 weeks of when the seed is applied. The pre-emergent and spray will both kill off new seedlings trying to germinate. With this said, it is more efficient to over-seed each fall right around Labor Day when nights start to cool, and we also do not need to worry about any lawn treatments interfering.

It appeared spring would be early this season, but as we all know, this has changed, so we are not expecting core aeration this spring to start any earlier than usual. Maybe mid-May?

More updates to come, but if you are interested in receiving a core aeration quote, please go to FREE ESTIMATES.

UPDATED MARCH 3RD, 2024:

Here at C N’R, we offer 2 rounds of core aeration during the season. Spring & Fall. Spring usually takes place during the months of May into June, and Fall usually takes place during the months of September into October. For anyone looking to over-seed with core aeration, we offer that as well, but we recommend this a lot more in the fall than the spring. If you over-seed in the spring, then it will require for no crabgrass or weed treatments about 5-7 weeks before/after the seed goes down. So, it complicates things in the spring.

At this time, even though spring looks early, it is uncertain if that will affect the start time of our spring core aeration service. Too early to predict or determine, but we would think at the most, if things are 1-2 weeks early, maybe we start spring core aeration during first half of May?

On another note, if you are a current customer, the main focus should be just signing up for services for now so we have you on our schedule. If you are a NEW customer interested in core aeration services, please go to FREE ESTIMATES to submit your request.

We will keep you posted here later in March and into April.
