CN'R Lawn N' Landscape - Spring Clean Updates

CN'R Lawn N' Landscape Weekly MowingCore Aeration Updates

CN'R Lawn N' Landscape - Core AerationLatest Update

UPDATED FRIDAY, MAY 30:

C N’R offers 2-rounds of Core Aeration each season. One time in the spring (May/June) & one time in the fall (September/October). With all the clay common in the Twin Cities metro, shaking up (core punching) your soil is essential at least 1x per season, but we recommend 2x each year.

The benefits of core aeration include getting air, moisture, and fertilizer directly to the root zone. Also, compacted soils are tough to achieve full grass growth and health. Breaking up the soil is a very good thing to do 2x per season.

IMPORTANT NOTE: If you are signed up for Core Aeration Service, you will be EMAILED a letter about 5-8 days in advance of your scheduled aeration week. We will NOT be sending this letter through the US MAIL like we have in the past.

CURRENT UPDATE:
The week of May 19th got wet fast as you can imagine with 2.5-3.5 inches of rain on the Tuesday and Wednesday of this particular week. Some core aeration did get done on Monday, May 19th, then we were shut down with solid rain Tuesday and Wednesday, stayed off lawns on Thursday, 5/22, and the plan it to try it out on Friday May 23rd. We will not get all scheduled core aeration done for this week, and for the customers that we do not get done, you will receive an email later on Friday, 5/23 or Saturday 5/24 saying that we will finish the following week after Memorial Day.

GENERAL MESSAGE: As stated in previous updates, the week of May 19th became very wet. This made for a lot of planned core aerations jobs for that week to get pushed off to the week of Memorial Day. And by the end of the week of Memorial Day (week of 5/26) - we were able to catch up, but unable to schedule NEW jobs for that week. Therefore overall progress with our spring core aeration service is behind. Not a big deal as anytime during the season is good to aerate. But, what the delay has caused is for the spring core aeration season to last through the entire month of June this year. If you are scheduled for the week of June 2nd, so far everything is on schedule to get done. Just depends on rainfall that we receive for that particular week. As for all customers that have not seen a schedule email sent out yet, you will shortly as we are currently trying to schedule the rest of June.

GENERAL MESSAGE: Because of the rain delay talked about above, we did not schedule any NEW aeration jobs for the SHORT WEEK of Memorial Day because we anticipating being behind schedule. Which is going to come true. BUT - this in turn will push a lot of core aerations jobs through the entire month of June. If you are on our list for core aeration, we are just saying scheduling will last until close to July 4th due to the back up that happened during the week of 5/19 and the short Memorial Day week.

CURRENT UPDATE:
As of the end of Thursday, May 15th - we are behind with our core aeration schedule. If your scheduled aeration is not completed during the planned week of May 12th, you have been emailed. Our goal will be to complete your core aeration the week of May 19th. (Friday, May 16 forecast is much cooler, but wet all day, so we are not aerating this particular day). The forecast looks pretty wet at least for the first half of the week during the week of May 19th. This could affect planned core aeration jobs for the week of May 19th as well. In the end, it is looking likely core aeration as a whole will start falling further behind, and if you signed up for this service, a lot of jobs will be completed during a lot of the month of June, which is just fine. It does not matter when you core aerate your lawn specifically unless you are trying to seed.

As said above, the “spring” portion of our service does not start until mid-May-ish each season. At the time of this update on 4/13, we still do not have plans for this service, but we would assume it will get going maybe the week of May 12th or May 19th - somewhere in there.

If you are looking to get pricing on core aeration this season, please go to our FREE ESTIMATES page to submit this request. We will get back to you as soon as we can.
