CN'R Lawn N' Landscape Weekly MowingCore Aeration Updates

CN'R Lawn N' Landscape - Core AerationLatest Update

UPDATED 10/13/17:

C N’R's fall core aeration service has officially come to an end and all scheduled customers have been completed. Although “the aeration season” was rather wet, we seemed to stay mostly on track and safe on the properties. In the end, really nothing totally dried out, and we used our best discretion when situations warned!

Unfortunately, for any NEW customers that would like to squeeze in an aeration late this fall, C N’R will no longer be able to complete this service. We are now focusing on ending our landscape season, ending our mowing season, and starting the BIG season of Fall Clean Up work.

Thank you very much for your business this fall!

UPDATED 10/3/17:

Fall Sprinkler Winterizations (shut-downs/blow-outs) did officially start on October 2nd. C N’R will continue with this service through the end of October. Actually, Friday, October 27th will be our last possible day/date to complete these winterizations.

SCHEDULING? Craig is currently working on contacting all sprinkler winterization customers as this update is being written. The scheduling process will last through the middle of October. Keep abreast of your emails.

UPDATED 9/27/17:

Core Aeration by definition is: The removal of small cores of soil to allow air, moisture, and fertilizer to penetrate the root zone.

LATEST UPDATE: As of the week of September 25th, C N’R ’s core aeration team is on schedule. We did receive major wetness during the beginning of the week of 9/25, but the forecast looks dry for the latter half. Therefore, we should be able to stay on schedule. The week of October 2nd will be our LAST week of scheduling core aeration for this fall. If you are looking to get on our schedule, please EMAIL CRAIG and we will be happy to service you.
QUICK NOTE: All scheduled customers have been sent notification through the US MAIL of your scheduled date.

UPDATED 9/19/17:

Core Aeration by definition is: The removal of small cores of soil to allow air, moisture, and fertilizer to penetrate the root zone. C N’R completes this service 2x per season (spring and fall). Currently, during the week of August 28th, we are just beginning this service that will last all the way to around the 1st of October (give or take).

You will receive a letter through the US MAIL about 1 week in advance to let you know your aeration date, plus instructions of what you will need to do.

ALSO: Over-seeding along with core aeration is a great way to thicken your lawn over time. Applying over-seed at least 1x per season is highly recommended. Please EMAIL CRAIG if you are looking to add over-seeding to your core aeration service. We do plan to complete all scheduled over-seeding customers during the week of 9/4 and during the week of 9/11.

C N’R’s Fall Core Aeration schedule continues to stay on schedule, and as long as there is no more rain during the week of 9/18, we should be able to stay on schedule. We did get some rain on Monday, 9/18, and some rain could hit early in the morning on Wednesday, 9/20. But, as long as most of the day on Wednesday and then Thursday/Friday are quiet, we should be good to go.

UPDATED 8/28/17:  **Due to the holiday, the next update will be provided during the week of 9/11**

Because we will not be updating once again for this service until the week of September 11th - we want to let you know that hopefully weather will cooperate during the week of 8/28, and during the short week of 9/4 to keep us on schedule. If you are scheduled for any of these 2 particular weeks, remember, if we fall behind and we feel like we will not complete your core aeration on-time, we will contact you to let you know.

Thanks and have a great Labor Day holiday!

OUR LAST UPDATE WAS 7/9/17 BELOW: **expect new updates to come in as we get further into August**

UPDATED 8/21/17:

C N’R’s popular Fall Core Aeration Schedule is being put together as we get through the end of August and into September. Fall Core Aeration will begin the week of August 28th, and will continue through the month of September. Please look through your stack of mail and keep abreast of when your scheduling letter comes out. We do send these 1 week in advance through the US MAIL. If you want to be emailed about this to give warning, please let EMAIL CRAIG.
Over-seeding customers? We plan to tackle these customers during the week of 9/4 and/or the week of 9/11. It is a great time to complete over-seeding with your core aeration. If you are looking to gradually thicken your grassy areas over time, over-seeding 1x per season is essential. EMAIL CRAIG if you want to add over-seeding!
Stay tuned for more updates. Hoping we do not have significant delays due to this crappy summer weather we have been having off and on all season long! Ugh!

UPDATED 7/9/17:

As mentioned on the front page - C N’R’s scheduled “spring” core aeration service is in the past, and now we are moving through the hottest months of the year! Heat can mean the development of fungus and disease. For regular core aeration services, it is not normal to aerate during the middle of summer. We tend to aerate more in the spring and in the fall. But, it does not mean it cannot be an answer to help your lawn out during the summer. A mix of core aeration along with chemical treatments are normal solutions to disease, fungus, and heat stress. A great way to jump start your lawn!

For our regular scheduled fall core aeration customers, we do not plan to start this service until around Labor Day. More updates on that will come in August sometime.

In the meantime, if you are looking to help cure a disease and/or fungus, or just jump start your lawn this summer, C N’R is open for core aeration services and chemical treatments.

Please head on over to our FREE ESTIMATES page to submit your request and we can help you out from there!

**OUR NEXT CORE AERATION UPDATE WILL LIKELY NOT OCCUR UNTIL AROUND MID-AUGUST**

UPDATED 6/19/17:

Well - we have finally completed our Spring Core Aeration customers on Friday, June 16th. Yes, this service was behind this season, and you can read about it within our “past updates” below. As said below and on the front page - May was a tough month. Even the first half of June was not the greatest when we are talking about frequent rains. It is so tough to aerate safely when conditions of the soil/grass are very wet. Anyways, long story short, our Spring Core Aeration consequently fell behind schedule in May and lasted a little longer than usual into the month of June. Once again, as of the end of June 19th, we are finished with our scheduled/planned spring core aeration customers and we will still open to complete some special core aeration requests throughout the summer season here.

Thank you spring core aeration customers! And thank you for your patience through the process, and we look forward to seeing you in September once we start our Fall Core Aeration service.

UPDATED 6/13/17:
We had a little mix up with our core aeration services. Two schedules were drafted, one for the week of June 5th, the other for the week of June 12th. C N’R accidentally reversed these 2 schedules. It was an honest mistake.

So, if you were scheduled for the week of June 5th, you will not be complete the week of June 12th. If you were schedule for the week of June 12th, you were already aerated during the week of June 5th.

We sincerely apologize for the mix up, and we will learn from it.

If you have further questions, please EMAIL CRAIG. Otherwise, as long as weather cooperates, all of you that are now going to be aerated during the week of June 12th will be completed by the end of the week

UPDATED 6/5/17:
Once again, we encourage you to always read past updates below so you can catch up on the reasoning of our progress with our Spring Core Aeration schedule. Instead of explaining it all again here now, we are just going to stick with our plan over the next couple of weeks.
All “scheduled” customers for this season’s spring core aeration service have been sent a letter explaining the range of dates we will be aerating. We have this week left, and we have next week left - which is the week of June 12th. Once the weekend of June 17/18 hits, we are looking to be completed with our spring core aeration service. If you have any further questions, please feel free to EMAIL CRAIG.

UPDATED 5/30/17:
First off - it will help to read previous updates below. But, now we are into the week of May 29th - and for the spring core aeration customers that were planned to be completed last week (week of May 22nd) - we are planning to complete this week (week of May 29th). This should get us back on schedule.
Next week’s aeration plan? (Week of June 5th): If you are scheduled for that week, if weather cooperates, we should be able to complete this week’s of aeration on-time.
To sum it all up, yes, we were behind schedule and at this time we are still behind schedule, but by the end of the week of June 5th, we should totally be on schedule unless we get some really bad weather once again. And, because of all these delays, our spring core aeration services will continue through the week of June 12th.
Please EMAIL CRAIG if you have further questions.

UPDATED 5/23/17:
We strongly urge you to please read below at previous updates to catch up with what is going on before reading this week’s update.

THIS WEEK’S UPDATE?
The week of May 22 - we are still finishing “last week’s” core aeration - which we will for sure complete. Whether we get to “this week’s” schedule is the question that will be tough to answer. We may get to some, but all the ones that we do not get to this week will be completed during the week of May 29 - Memorial Day week.

Stay tuned for more updates.

UPDATED 5/17/17:
If you have received notice that you are to be aerated between the dates of 5/16 & 5/20 - you will likely get pushed into next week for your spring core aeration. We may get some done this week, but because it is rainy and super wet, it is best to stay off most properties. If we do push you to next week, we will contact you.

If you have received notice that you are to be aerated between the dates of 5/23 & 5/27 - you might as well be delayed because of the wet weather during the week of 5/15. We will communicate with these customers as well as we get through next week (Week of 5/22).

Stay tuned for more updates, and/or simple EMAIL CRAIG if you have further questions. We understand that the above information provided can be confusing, but bottom line is this: When we are this wet during a 1-week period, it may affect the week after as well. We just want you to know that we are looking out the best we can to your property and how wet it is and try to error on safety of waiting to aerate until it dries out. Some lawns drain better/faster than others, and we will make those types of decisions as we go.

UPDATED 5/2/17:
Our kick off to the spring core aeration season has occurred! The week of May 1st is the week that we will start aerating and continue through the month of May and into early June if needed (weather depending). Been a wet spring so far, so we are a bit hesitant to fill/plan too much of a schedule. Confidence will increase with a streak of good weather. As we headed into the week of May 1st, we had a heck of a lot of rain on Sunday/Monday - so we continue to wait out the wetness for all planned core aeration customers for this week. Light at the end of the tunnel? Yes, we do see dryer weather in our immediate future which helps us with confidence of completing our scheduled core aeration customers for the week of May 1st.
Remember, we will work on scheduling as we go. Keep an eye on your US MAIL for notification of your scheduled date. This will be mailed out at least one week in advance.

UPDATED 4/25/17:
Our spring core aeration will begin during the week of May 1st. This service will continue through the month of May. Maybe a little into June - depends on weather. There is no hurry to get this done, and we will work in all customers as soon as we can. Please keep an eye on your US MAIL stack for our letter that comes out 7+days ahead of your scheduled aeration date. This letter will have all the info you need prior to this service taking place. If you have further questions, please EMAIL CRAIG.

UPDATED 4/10/17:
We plan to start our spring core aeration service sometime during the beginning of May. At this time, there is no exact plan, nor is there scheduling available. More details about our plan will be available later on as we push through April. Stay tuned!

UPDATED 3/21/17:
As updated before, we have no real new information about “spring” core aeration at this time. Usually the plan is to start this service Early in May. When we do have more info, we will post it here, but right now, we are concentrating on spring cleans, gutter cleaning, and fertilizer. Stay tuned!

UPDATED 2/27/17:
Spring core aeration will likely begin early May. Stay tuned for more updates as we get closer. Way too early yet to make any definitive plans.
